Driver's Reminder Appliance (DRA) Button

The DRA is a hard worked and vital piece of equipment found in every cab on today's railways. Unfortunately the plastic actuating button does not seem to be up to the job and can break without warning. This can result, in the worst case, in a cancelled train and subsequent heavy penalties.

Working with one of the train maintenance companies, Pickersgill-Kaye have developed a replacement button. The new button is made from aluminium and is far stronger than the existing one. It also incorporates a high quality lens and diffuser which is compatible with the existing red LED illumination.

VAB involvement is not required due to the fact that the new button is considered to be a 'like for like' replacement, except it does not break!

Change over takes only a few moments and can easily be carried out on depot. The initial financial implication is obvious, no more cancellations due to inoperative DRA equipment. The secondary implication is that you do not have to stock and change the whole box, costing possibly in excess of £300, you only have to stock the buttons at less than £30.

This product will soon be available ex-stock from Railpart in quantities to cater for a fleet refit down to a 1 off for a UVS situation.
