Fire in Trains

FIRE IN TRAINS incorporating Escape and Crash Survival

International Seminar
London Heathrow
8-9 March 2001

Sponsored by Tunnel Management International
BBC Spotlights Train Escape System

Before the tragic events which took place, outside Paddington in the UK, last year, it was widely thought that a train crash would not result in serious fire. Since then, there have been a number of incidents in other countries with similar severe consequences.

Wide media coverage of both the incidents and ongoing official enquiries has increased public awareness of the personal, professional and technical issues involved. Nevertheless, it is equally important for specialists to address these issues in a constructive way, and to share experiences and knowledge, in order to understand and learn from them.

ITC and HM Railway Inspectorate of the Health and Safety Executive have collaborated to present this unique event.

Harry Griffiths, pictured, Sales Manager at Pickersgill-Kaye exhibited our new K-TEX emergency exit system as featured recently on Tomorrow's World and showed a video demonstration.
